The intense pressing psychological needs, which appear in the form of professional, psychological and social stress, affect many systems of our organism, and the skin as well. So, stressful situations activate the secretion of many substances, which are distributed via the neurocells. Among these, there are neurotransmitters such as noradrenalin, dopamine and adrenaline, which, in recent studies, are found to reach extremely high levels during the times of vitiligo expansion, when we see the gradual appearance of new lesions.

On testing patients at our center we found that the levels of the above-mentioned neurotransmitters were very high during periods of their vitiligo expanding.

Thus, the effect of distressing situations in the appearance and also the expansion of vitiligo is explained.
