Melanocytic halo nevus

The melanocytic nevus is a well-defined nevus, in the form of a brown spot or a nodule surrounded by a white halo.

Location:

We usually find it in the trunk (upper back).

Epidemiology:

We find it more often in people with fair skin types. Children and adolescents have it more often than adults.

Progress:

It may automatically decrease or progress (more often in children of vitiligo patients).

Correlation:

It may be directly related to vitiligo and metastatic melanoma. The prevalence rate of halo nevi in children is unknown. It could probably be 1%. However, Precic and his team observed that the halo nevi prevalence in children with vitiligo is between 2.5% and 34%.
